Kodak will use CES (the Consumer Electronics Show, which takes place in Las Vegas this week) to unveil a 26mm fixed-lens digital camera. The Kodak Z980 will have a 24x optical zoom and be able to capture 12 megapixels of detail.
With the zoom enabled, really close-up images can be framed using the camera's 3in LCD preview screen. Kodak is also touting the Z980 camera's Smart Capture feature. This analyses scenes and adjusts camera settings to ensure images are sharp and clear. The camera will have a vertical shutter release and a detachable vertical grip, for greater comfort and control when shooting scenes vertically.
