Alienware - New M-17 Notebook


The leading maker of gaming computers has always been Alienware, and their new M-17 notebook stands above the rest. It has the first ever mobile quad-core cpu, giving the M-17 extreme power and speed. The M-17 is also equipped with ATI CrossfireXdual graphics, which is a first for Alienware. TheClearview 17-inch, high-def 1200p LCD ranks the M-17 in the top for highest quality, and with its 1TB of memory this baby can hold a ridiculous amount of games, full-length movies and songs.

If you've ever wanted to see technology straight out of the movies then the M-17 delivers: with a finger print scanner and facial recognition software, there will be no remembering passwords with this laptop. The price may seem steep, but it would be money well spent with all the crazy new features the new M-17 has to offer.

The Shinny New Apple Macbok


Take a piece of solid aluminum leave it in a room with the people at Apple and what would you get? If I told you the new 13-inch Macbook you might not believe that, but it’s the truth. I love when Apple comes out with nice shinny new stuff.

Putting that aside it has some really cool new futures, like the trackpad that has become the button it self, just click anywhere on the pad and your in. It also comes with some power; with 320GB you can load Macbook with your favorite movies, documents and photos. Then it even has the option to upgrade to128GB solid state hard drive with no moving parts. Then add in the 8x super drive and you can burn any and everything you watch.

Of course it is a Macbook so you know it’s iPhone.iPod,digital camera and external hard drive ready. If you opened this puppy up you would find an Intel Core 2 Duo processor capable of speeds up to 2.4GHZ. It also kicks out 1066MHZ DDR3 memory and that by it self gives you the ability to deal with complex files as well as keeping more applications open at once.

Samsung 2233RZ 3D monitor


Samsung is readying for launch a 22in flatpanel LCD monitor with a 120Hz refresh rate and the ability to display 3D video. The Samsung 2233RZ 3D monitor will go onsale in April for $399.

Showcased at CES earlier this month, the Samsung 2233RZ works by overlaying one image on top of but slightly offset from another. Each image is updated at a rate of 60Hz, with viewers only able to enjoy the 3D effect when wearing a pair of special stereoscopic glasses.

The glasses have been designed by nVidia for use with its GeForce 3D Vision kit. PC users will need to have either an nVidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher card, or a GeForce 8900 GT. GeForce GTX 200 cards are also supported. The user switches between standard 2D viewing and enjoying 3D video or gaming by pressing a mode button on their keyboard. Around 330 games can be enjoyed in 3D, with many more due to launch.

Dell G2210 and G2410 flat panel displays


Dell has unveiled two new screens in its G-series range of widescreen flat panel monitors, which it claims are some of its most energy efficient.

The G2210 is a 22in display with a maximum resolution of 1,680x1050 while the G2410 is a 24in HD screen with a resolution of 1920x1080. Both displays have a standard contrast ration of 1,000:1 and a dynamic contrast ratio of up to 1,000,000:1.
The Energy Star and EPEAT gold compliant monitors consumer less than 0.15W when in sleep mode and have a built-in ambient light sensor, which responds to surrounding brightness, automatically adjusting screen brightness levels when enabled. The G2210 has a power consumption of 18W while the G2410 consumes 20W. Both displays also benefit from a 'PowerNap' screensaver application that dims the monitor to minimum brightness or 'sleep' mode when requested.

Available in late February, no prices have been released for the monitors yet.

New Brother multifunction printers


Brother has unveiled the MFC-990CW - an inkjet printer that features Bluetooth connectivity so users can print photos directly from their mobile phone without the need for a PC.

The MFC-990CW is one of five new models being launched by Brother, which offer the ability to scan, fax and print from one machine. Ranging in price from £79.99 to £229.99, all of the printers have a print resolution of 6,000x1,200 and an optical scanning resolution of 1,200x2,400. They also benefit from PictBridge technology, which allows users to print directly from a digital camera without the need for a PC, and a USB 2.0 port.

Medion Akoya E6210 16in widescreen multimedia laptop


Medion has launched the Akoya E6210 - a 16in widescreen multimedia laptop with 250GB hard drive, priced at £450.

Driven by an Intel Pentium dual-core T3400 processor, the Akoya E6210 has a resolution of 1,366x768 pixels and features an Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics chip. It has an HDMI output so content from the PC can be enjoyed on HD TV. Medion has also fitted it out with an 8x DVD rewriter, integrated stereo speakers and surround sound audio.

The laptop is encased in a sleek black shell complemented by blue lit icons and also benefits from a 250GB hard drive, 3GB of RAM, wireless and ethernet connectivity, a four-in-one card reader and an eSATA port.

Vuzix Wrap 920AV portable media sunglasses


This year is being touted as the year when 3D films, animation and games go mainstream. We've already had a look at the Minoru 3D webcam - now we learn of another way to enjoy 3D action, thanks for Vuzix's Wrap 920AV sunglasses.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD2000, VPC-FH1, VPC-WH1 and VPC- TH1 'dual cameras'


Sanyo has introduced six new Xacti-branded camcorders , set for launch in the UK in March. All are billed as 'dual cameras', capable of recording high-definition video as well as taking photos.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y650 touchscreen laptop


Lenovo is stealing a march on rival laptop makers by announcing what it will be showcasing at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Most announcements are expected to be made tomorrow and Wednesday as press briefings are held ahead of the wider unveiling of this year's hottest tech items.
Lenovo's IdeaPad Y650 will distinguish itself by being the thinnest 16in laptop around. This size of laptop started appearing in mid-2008, prompted by interest in Blu-ray high definition video playback possibilities on high-specification laptops. The proportions of the 16in screen mean it will be able to display high-definition movies with having to contort the footage to fit the screen.

Kodak Z980 Smart Capture digital camera


Kodak will use CES (the Consumer Electronics Show, which takes place in Las Vegas this week) to unveil a 26mm fixed-lens digital camera. The Kodak Z980 will have a 24x optical zoom and be able to capture 12 megapixels of detail.
With the zoom enabled, really close-up images can be framed using the camera's 3in LCD preview screen. Kodak is also touting the Z980 camera's Smart Capture feature. This analyses scenes and adjusts camera settings to ensure images are sharp and clear. The camera will have a vertical shutter release and a detachable vertical grip, for greater comfort and control when shooting scenes vertically.

Acer Aspire ONE 10in netbook


Acer has announced a 10in netbook that it hopes will repeat the success of the 8.9in Aspire ONE model it launched last summer. The Aspire ONE was one of the most successful netbooks of 2008.

Toshiba Frost White 500GB external hard drive


Toshiba has unveiled a 500GB external hard drive that is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Labelled the Frost White, the half-terabyte external drive costs £120. It measures 16.5x81x12.7mm and is distinguished by a funky monochrome wave design on its casing.

Netgear Digital Entertainer Elite (EVA9150)


Netgear claims that its Digital Entertainer Elite (EVA9150) is "the most powerful and flexible digital media player available", incorporating the latest video, audio and wireless technologies.
